BSP (Betfair Starting Price): what it means in exchange trading

Betfair's exchange-calculated starting price, set at the off.

BSP is calculated by matching bets requested at SP against each other and against orders on the exchange at the moment the market turns in-play. It is often, but not always, bigger than the bookmaker SP on the same horse. Our race pages record BSP where it is available.
